 Many of you have heard of RSS and recognize the logo. However, people usually
think of it as a news delivery service that you can customize. Well, here’s a real
world application for the multi-family industry.
I’m sure you have all heard of www.apartmentratings.com and they have an RSS
feed. You can setup an RSS feed for each apartment community so your leasing
team can be notified whenever a new review or response has been added to their
community listing.
Besides ApartmentRatings.com which has high rankings with search engines
(insuring your prospects are definitely aware of this website), there are also other
sites like Yelp.com, RateItAll.com, ConsumerReview.com, Citysearch.com that all allow consumers to share their experiences (good and bad) in their public forum. Many of these websites also have RSS feeds.

Go to www.myyahoo.com to setup your apartment community page where you will be customizing the page with the ApartmentRatings.com “feedback comments” feed as well as other cool features that will help your leasing team be well informed.

Select “Add RSS Feed” from the Personalize this page menu.

Place your cursor in the “add RSS feed” box, then right click and select paste from the drop-down menu to add the link you copied in Step 3.

After you have inserted the RSS feed for ApartmentRatings.com you page will look like the one to the left. Your page will now be updated as new posts are made to the ApartmentRatings.com listing for your community.
